For the past week and a half, I have been unable to upload any "physical" files. It can't simply be an "unable to upload" problem, because then my Internet simply wouldn't be working as packets wouldn't be able to get sent out. However, I cannot upload any files through my e-mail, FTP server, or even through my network connection. My roommate's (I live in an university dorm room) connection is perfectly fine, so I was thinking this is a Windows problem.

If any has ANY help at all, please let me know. I have no real idea of what the heck is wrong, and I'm utterly confused.

Thanks,
-=ViC

check to see if you have a trojan installed, if not reinstall your network card drivers.

i don't know what your level of experience with pc's is, so don't take offence to this... but do you have a firewall setup, and could you possibly have blocked outgoing traffic?

Don't worry, it's hard for me to take offense to someone who is trying to help me. Additionally, I'm glad you mentioned those things, as there are a lot of people who do not know about firewalls, and even an expert could sometimes forget about them.

Anyhow, I don't have any firewalls running other than the one that is put up by my own university. That firewall shouldn't restrict uploading privledges though, as all my other friends' Internet connections do not have any problems with uploading.

Got any other ideas?

Thanks for the reply anyhow,

Uninstall and reinstall your network card drivers.

Missed your message earlier... I'll try this in several minutes.

Thanks,
-=ViC

Edit: Completely uninstalled and then reinstalled my network card drivers and the problem is still present. Anything else I can do?

try another nic in the system.
if it's onboard, you can just get a pci nic to test out whether or not the problem is that it's a faulty nic.
check your buddy's and see if his is onboard or pci. if it's pci, just borrow it and test it out on your system.

Hey Roger,
Thanks for the suggestion. I'm using a onboard NIC right now, so I'll borrow my roommate's PCI card tomorrow (he's away for the weekend and his comp is locked) and try this out.

Thanks,

I used the PCI Ethernet Card my roommate had, but it still doesn't work. Any other advice?

Thanks,

are you given a static ip, or dynamic?

also, try plugging your box into your buddy's port. you could be connected to a dying port.
