...what is the setting that you refer to as 2-2-2-3 ......please do explain i am just an stupid old man trying to tweak his puter

That is called RAM timings. For instance, 2-3-3-7 is this:

2 = CAS latency
3 = RAS to CAS delay
3 = RAS precharge
7 = Active precharge

And sometimes you'll see one like 1T or 2T which is Command Rate.
