Ahh long time no see fellas, been a few years now finally finished my Auto electrical trade and have been out of the scene for a while

So I'm looking at a new build have no idea where to start so if anyone could give me some opinions thatd be excellent.

Now i've always been a AMD fan but i've heaqrd recently they merged?, or bought another company i dunno havent done my research got told to stay away from them for a while? Your thoughts on this?

Anyway the computer will mostly be for gaming, and a media server for my playstation 3

Thanks,

P.s Good to see all the people from my day are still active.

First thing to ask is what your feasible budget is.

Well i'll build the system over time, rather then rush out and buy parts straight away, so budget can be practically anything within reason i guess,

if we throw together some specs and ill look up prices ask for alternatives if i think its getting to pricey.

AMD bought ATI. You'll see more Crossfire AMD boards now than SLI, or boards that do both. I put Asus, Gigabyte, and MSI in that order. You'll need new everything, so budget at around a grand to $1500 for a top notch rig that'll last you a few years,
