Award BIOS temperature readings

I bought a new desktop and then got distracted by a 2 week vacation to N.Ireland and England. Then we adopted puppies. So this weekend, I managed to sit down and put things together.

Never thought I'd have problems...

The motherboard, case, CPU, cooler, memory, GPU, PSU and HDD are all installed. I hooked up the keyboard and monitor and started up.
1) I forgot to plug in the CPU fan. Fixed that.
2) Temperatures still not stable. I removed the side window and temps stabilize in low 40's. I disable the side fan, put the side window back on and temps remain stable.

So, the stable idle temp is (eventually) 49-49.5C and the PCH temperature seems to be fixed at 39C.
Ambient temperature is supposedly 25C but I believe it's actually warmer in this room.
I'm worried that 49C is too high for idle and that 39C might be a lie.

Front 200mm, top 200mm and rear 120mm fans are on; the side fan is switched off.

I'm certain the top is an exhaust. I believe the front is intake and the rear exhaust.
That might mean there's a lack of intake getting through to the CPU area.

I don't know what the airflow figures are for the fans.

Do you think I should try reversing the side fan? Not something I've done before.

Make sure they are properly intaking and exhausting first. Don't assume, test and see which ones are blowing in and out of the case.

That case has great cooling and airflow. I would double check that the OEM cooler is installed properly. Make sure all the push-pins are deployed correctly and the cooler is flat and square on the processor.

The i7's aslwo run hotter. TPB is 100C on those now, up from 85C. You're well within limits. But do check to make sure the fans are pointed the right way, that can make all the difference in the world.

Are you using the stock thermal compound? As you have so many fans, I am guessing that sound level isn't a top priority--in which case you could override the adaptive fan speed and leave it on high for the CPU (Not really a solution, but would certainly keep it cooler).

Yes, I'm currently using the stock pre-applied thermal compound on the i5-750.
Tiger Direct didn't stock Arctic Silver or OCZ Freeze. I bought Coolermaster's compound so one option is scrape off the stock stuff and apply that.

The sound level is outstanding on all fans except the GPU. Really, the priority at the moment is stable temperature consistent with realistic expectations. I don't wish to risk the hardware.

Turning the fans up to max does very little; ~2C. I'm ~10C above expected temps.

Hmm, that's no good at all. I don't foresee the change in thermal paste making up the difference, unless there was something wrong with the stock thermal pad. Keep us posted.
