Hey guys,
I was searching the internet and I was looking for a high performance DIY cooling system when I read an article on a cooling system made out of a mini fridge. This idea appealed to me, because of the chance of me be being able to buy a used mini fridge for a pretty cheap price. Essentially, I would make my own CPU and VGA waterblocks. I would then run the hoses (1/2" ID) out through an empty PCI slot. The "hot" hose would run through the side of the mini fridge to a home-made reservoir. From here, the water would split into 2 3/8" copper coils to help cool the water down. These coils would join and feed into a high performance pump (at least 500 GPH and 10 ft head) which would pump it back into the case. I am pretty sure this would elminate the need for any kind of radiator, and would be pretty cost effective. Basically, the idea is that the water coming through the reservoir and copper coils would be cooled by the fridge's air. Anyone have any ideas on the effectiveness of this or General ideas? Thanks.

Sounds like an interesting proposition.

But you might have the water being so cold that condensation could become a problem if the air temperature in the room is high enough and has too much humidity.

I was thinking about a LEGO watercooling system. Made out of LEGOS. FOR EVERYTHING! EVEN THE TUBES!

NO I wasn't. But it's be pretty neat. Though large and unwieldy.

Other than bein' the "heppest cat" on your block, what are the advantages to water cooling? I mean... does it drop your case temps dramaticsally enough that you're GOING to get more OCing out of it?

A noise thing? Ain't those pumps and radiators noisy?

Just pick up a good waterblock from a retailer.
