First off let me just say that I realize and saw that both of these sites have beeen reviewed here already.

I just want to be sure before I make a $200.00 purchase.

Now I had seen these 2 boards in reviews elseware before this and was interested in both. Before reading these reviews here I had planned on picking up the Abit board but after reading the Abit review (vs.Cahintech) I dont really see any reason to.

From what I can tell the Chaintech actually looks like it produces better scores and is therefore more capable then the Abit board. The bonus being the Sound that the chaintech offers.

Pricewatch showed only a $10.00 difference, which seems well worth it for some kick ass onboard sound.

So the question is guys... What am I missing? What makes the Abit better then the Chaintech?

The ABit is a far better OCer and if you have a look on TN's Pricegrabber I think you'll find that the ABit is around $170.00, far less than what you previously stated. If you're going for looks, have a look at the DFI Lanparty 875Pro, it has all UV orange and is also great for OCing.
Good luck for your project BTW... We hope to see something great come of it

I realize that the Abit is suppose to be 'the' or one of 'the' best OC'ers out there, but thats not what I saw from the benchmark test.

Abit IC7 = 2.4C @ 3.49Ghz (3:2) (3-8-4-4 Ram Timings)
CZ 9CJS = 2.4C @ 3.33Ghz (3:2) (3-8-4-4 Ram Timings)

These were the highest OC's tested in each review... so I guess the Abit was a smidge faster then the CZ but that deosnt seem wortht the trade off of having to buy an additional soundcard for my Abit motherboard, thus increasing the overal price and heat of my system.

But this post is basicallly a question... what am I not getting through my thick skull???

If reliaze that the Abit is "the best OCing board out there" but can someone spell it out for me, explain the difference?

Read the reviews bud, thats what they are for. It is not right to ask people to tell you the difference when both reviews are right on this site.

Please do the work and read them. They have all the information you require to make your decision.
