Hi all
I have a data disc which I burnt last year sometime. It plays on my friend's pc but my dvd-rom drive does not recognise it - nothing happens when I put it in the drive. The light flashes for ages as if it is trying to read/recognise it but nothing ever happens. If I right click and explore on dvd rom drive it shows blank window - as if the disc is blank - it DOESN'T say that a disc is not inserted or anything similar.
It is strange as I can copy data from it onto a memory stick with no problems on another pc.
The vast majority of my other data discs and dvds work fine in the drive in question (only a couple do this).
I would get a drive cleaner disc at your local radio shack. your laser could be dirty. _________________ Owner & Administrator

Could just be disc deterioration. Your buddy's drive might be better able to read the disc, while yours might not be as accurate. Does it read in the burner you originally burned it on? _________________ Big enough to scare you
