I got a message a little while back saying my copy of AVG was an illegal pirated version and that I needed to purchase a legal version. Now I'm using the free version completely in accordance with the EULA so the message is total BS obviously. After some digging I found out that a number of people have been getting this message and that AVG have or will be discontinuing thier campaign due to the number of legal users like myself who have been recieving this annoying message.

Just thought I would mention this here for anyone who is getting the error. If you are using the free version according to the EULA, you have done nothing wrong and can expect the messages to stop (if they haven't already) with your next update. If the probelm persists you just need to download and reinstall the free version. If you still have a problem or are recieving the error with a paid version then your key has likely been pirated and you will need to contact Grisoft with your proof of purchase and get a new key.

Just a heads up.

Disregard it, did you get the latest version from the website, or did you get it somewhere else?

I have always downloaded directly from the website. Its not a problem really but it can be annoying whilst playing games online or running benchmarks. All is good now though so I'm smilling at AVG again (not as wide as before though).

Seeing you kept AVG on, I think you are noticing a difference.
