I have my card clocked at 570MHz / 1.60GHz
Stock was 540MHz / 1.34GHz
Idle it runs about 39c & playing games like Oblivion its around 49cn which i belive is fine since its just in my stock HP case
Ive tried rivatuner but the best i got was 567 core & 808 memory
Im going to try At itool next to see how that goes cause the main thing i want to increase is the core the memory can stay at 1.60GHz or at least in the 1GHZ range.
Anyone have any good clocking ideas or mods for tyhis card i could try ?? |

Hi, welcome to TN
The memory on your card (all cards these days) is DDR, DDR stands for double data rate. In essence it means that if the memory is clocked to 800mhz (raw rate) then it is in fact operating at 1.6ghz. If you look in the settings of your overclocking tool you will find a checkbox to display DDR as apposed to raw clock. If you were to get your RAM up to 1ghz you would be running at 2ghz. The same principal is used in system ram and a similar pricipal is used in CPU speed rating. DDR 400 RAM is in fact set to a base clock of 200 which is then doubled to give the 400mhz rating and yes, it does perform at or close to RAM clocked at 400mhz core without the double data rate.
Riva tuner and ATI tool are the best apps for GFX card clocking that I am aware of. I personally use ATI tool as it usually gives me the best results. Have fun overclocking and feel free to post before and after 3dmark scores in our 3dmark scores thread
Hope this helps. _________________ Phenom II x4 955 @ Stock

So when u say " find a checkbox to display DDR as apposed to raw clock " im guessing thats in the Riva tuner and ATI tool since i dont see that in the nvidia control panel, which is what im currently using with the coolbits regedit.
So it sounds like from what uve stated here when i was using the Riva tuner it sounds like the DDR one was already selected since it would only let clock the Memory to 808MHz & core was around 568Mhz.
So it sounds like my next step is to try the ATI tool & ive seen some nice core clock with that software.
Im mainly trying to increase my core clock to around 600Mhz :) & my mem clock at least in the 1Ghz range or higher if possable
Also anyone heard on how to unlock some features on this card
example = pipes/shader??
or even any mods?? |

808mhz = 1616mhz The app shows the un multiplied speed not the final clock. 1ghz for the unmulti'd clock is very ambitios and I highly doubt you will reach it without dangerous volt modding and some serious cooling. The clocks you have are already very respectable. Now run some 3d benchmarks and see what you get at stock and then OC'd.
ATI tool should give you some good results on your core though, just be sure to keep an eye on your temps, if the core starts getting close to 80c and above then drop the speed a bit untill it peaks at no more than 75c, that is very hot still but its within the parameters for that card. Obviously lower temps are always better.
Always find your highest RAM setting before you start OCing the core. Get your max RAM speed then leave it set while you find your max core. This way you ensure that your final settings will work together.
If you have any more questions feel free to ask _________________ Phenom II x4 955 @ Stock
