Holy Mother of MOSES!

You know what I just thought of? A disco case? Maybe someone could be wood laminate on their harddrive and have a John Travolta figure.... maybe have a disco ball.... it'd be neat.

these are coming to me as "functional" servers.....so, a little time will be needed to figure out how/what to do with all the parts.

I'll let you know soon!

honestly....I bought them mainly for the cases....not to be used as is.

My patience was worn thin by people trying to get 240+ for the full tower koolance cases...I am getting so much more case this way, compared to the koolance for a reasonable price.

Ahah.... and anyone knows that you can take a craptacular OEM case and make it magical.

Just check out blingmethod.com and you'll see for yourself. *L*

It'd be nice to get a blow by blow in the mods section

Does this mean you're going to have to send back the cards that say "DMW - Master Pianist"? *L*

SO are you going to do a blow by blow once you have it all planned out? Any current plans? Sounds like watercooling.....

I got my cases today...first impressions? HTF am I going to get them downstairs into the basement....lol According to my bathroom scale, these damn thigs are 99LBS each! My back is just recovering from my having to move and now I have to lug these monsters downstairs.

Well, a couple of notes:
These have redundant power supplies included that weigh 11LBS a piece....so just the power supplies together weigh more than most cases out there....lol

The motherboards are dual Pentium boards.....HUGE MOFO MOBOS!

case dimensions are about 13" wide X 18" tall X 28" deep, all steel except for plastic door.

Every fan in these units is a 120MM fan (120MMX3).....even the PS fans are.

Going to clean them out and power them tomorrow to ensure no DOAs!

Currently, two are here...but there are only a couple more available from my source...if one or two people would like to aqcuire one....then I need to know.

Keep in mind the weight of these things when it comes to shipping (although I could break it down a bit and send it in pieces (i.e. power supplies separately etc.) to make shipping less)....unless you are willing to pick it up. I am in the Detroit area and can drive about 50 miles out to meet a buyer.

Please PM me if you have an interest. Otherwise I will post in my Garage Sale thread after I have a better idea of what will be offered.

Time do do some testing!

let me just say wow...I powerd the first one up tonight.
It's pretty loud with all 5 - 120MM fans running...and if you pull the plug on either of the power supplies...the fans get louder!
I yanked the power cords fo test the redundancy.....it didn't even flinch.

so far so good...everything seems to be functional in the bios area and the cards are recognized.

You're actually running the servers as they are?

I had to power them and ensure against DOAs...
If someone would want to get one...I do not want to offer dead parts.

My intentions are to have one as a possible server....one to mod the hell out of and another for whomever wants it.

you could easily run them as they are and have a great server with lots of room for expansion. we have a compaq server in our office which we use with banyan (although we will be switching to ms server in the next few months). they are great. reliable and stable. they are loud as hell though. i'd go with a vantec 120mm silent fan (1500 rpm)... that, and i'd hide it in the closet with the door closed.

lol.

everything said and done, I only intend now to keep one of them...
I have three, and there is a post in my garage sale thread...so if you might be interested, email me.
If my entire account gets dumped, then there are a couple of people that have my email address from previous dealings. ask around, to reach me.
