Does anyone have first hand experience with the gigabyte motherboards. I am seriously thinkin about " gogabyte GA-M55SLI-S4" socket am2, w/ NVIDIA nForce4...

i was thinkin about going with the regualar athlon 64, but didnt get a motherboard fast enough so i am stuck with a processor... then all my friends told me i should just forget that and go AM2... so i am...

i just want to know what you all think about gigabyte boards....

I used to sell gigabyte, over 90% would fail within the first 3 months. Don't know if they've gotten better, haven't touched them since

Yeah, they were hit hard by that batch of bad caps that did their rounds quite a few years back, left a sour taste in my mouth too. Still, as near as I can tell they have picked themselves back up and really pushed the quality of their boards. I havn't touched them since the bad cap adventure but I am thinking about trying one of their boards out in my next system. Should be soon, I hope....

That DFI should be good. For what its worth, I have been using a Gigabyte motherboard in my Core 2 Duo machine for 6 months without a lick of trouble.
