Hello, I have a laptop that i just bought and its been freezing a lot lately. I thought upgrading it with ram could have solved the problem but it still kept on freezing and restarting. My computer ussually freezes when im doing intense memory stuff like playing games or watching movies. When it freezes once, if I wait
a bit, it helps, but if i immediately start up again then it freezes upon boot. I think it might be a temp. problem but im not sure; best run it with you guys. so what should i do???? PLEAse Help!!! and thanks a bunch in advance
here are the specs:
Windows Vista Basic
Intel Celeron 1.73 GHz
** came with DDr2 512MB PC4200 but i replaced it with just one DDR !GB PC4200
80gb hdd
ATI MOBILITY RADEON X200M 128MB
65W external AC adapter
got all this info from http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/su/su_sc_outFrm.jsp?moid=1596138&ct=DS&soid=1625131&BV_SessionID=@@@@1625626199.1177635841@@@@&BV_EngineID=cccfaddkkjgehkgcgfkceghdgngdgnj.0 |

can you feel it being abnormally hot in a certain area on the notebook? Does the screen artifact at all? Can you open a program to monitor and log temps such as throttle watch? Also, open the Bios and tell us what those temps report as. _________________ P4 3.2ghz

Download a little program called speedfan. Its good for watching temps as well as a lot of other system info. I use it for my reviews to check temp performance of cases and such. That should tell you if its a heat issue. Being a celeron though the only way I can see it having heat issues is if the cooling system is failing or it was very poor to begin with. Celerons are generaly pretty cool running CPUs. Also download the latest ATI tool and see what temps the X200 is running at, it could also be caused by overheating GFX.
Good luck, let us know what results you get. _________________ Phenom II x4 955 @ Stock
