I hope this is an appropiate place to ask this question. If not, please don't flame me too badly. And if there's a more appropiate place, please let me know!
I'm looking at two cases for my new system and I'm really stuck on it. I've read a couple reviews about each of the above mentioned cases, and I can see good things about each of them. They've both received favorable reviews.
The Kingwin is a nice solid case, that's very practical, and has good potential for some really nice mods.
The Aspire is already tweaked very nicely, and I love the way it looks. I won't even have to mod it at all if I don't want to. I realize some may not like the way it looks, but that's ok. I'd like to know your opinions on its specs, not looks.
There are a couple reviews floating around on each of these cases, but I didn't see any on Tweak News. I'm not sure of the politics of posting reviews from other sites, so I'll refrain for now.
I'd just like to know what people think of these two, be it good or bad. Or if you have another favorite that you think I'd like even more than either of these, I wouldn't say no to more info. I've already read the other posts under Cases and Modding.
Thanks

Please post link to the two cases in question.

Don't worry about flaming, anyone does that, they will be booted. We are here to help and WILL NOT tolerate rude and/or smartass members.

Throw me the links and let me have a look.

Thanks very much for your positive RAPID response!
Here's two sets of links. The first link of each pair is the Kingwin, then the Aspire.
http://www.overclockercafe.com/Reviews/cases/Kingwin_KT-424/index.htm
http://www.overclockercafe.com/Reviews/cases/X-SuperAlien/index.htm

http://www17.tomshardware.com/howto/20030804/case-26.html
http://www17.tomshardware.com/howto/20030804/case-08.html

The reviews are nice, but if you just want specs here's two more links to the manufacturers' sites:

http://www.kingwin.com/pdut_detail.asp?LineID=&CateID=1&ID=153
http://www.aspireusa.net/frame.htm

(the aspire link requires you to click on the first listed case to take you to the specs. The new page takes a while to load, as it loads their entire catalog, it seems. The Super Alien is the first case listed, at least)

Thanks for your input!

By reading the reviews, I am leaning towards the SuperAlien.

Man, it looks great! :)

I'm leaning towards the SuperAlien, as well, because it does look pretty cool. I keep looking at cases, though, and there are some really nice ones out there. There's even a cheaper version of the Super Alien called the Alien with internal green UV lighting that I think looks better than than the more expensive Super Alien blue one! So if I wound up getting the Super Alien, I'd wind up swapping out all the blue fans for green ones, increasing the cost of the case to me by another 30-40 bucks. Stuff like this makes me wonder if I should just start from scratch.

I'd go with the super Alien. It comes witha great freakin' PSU and is spiffy cool. If only they had it in purple.

I'm really liking the Super Alien, and I'm probably gonna get it, but I'll sleep on it. If I do get it, I'll get it with the black and red 'eyes'. I wish I could get it with the green lights inside, but blue will be nice for a while. The green would have given it a totally different look, though! It's not listed on PriceGrabber, or any other engine I can find, either, so I've been hunting around.
There are way too many case mods out there, I've found out tonight. This'll be the most expensive machine I've ever put together, and I wanted it to look cool as heck. I think the Super Alien will have that effect without me having to kill myself with a lotta case mods. It comes with so many to start with.
The one thing that I'll have to get is some filter material because the case doesn't have any filters over its fans right now, at all. Any recommendations as to what type of material to use? I was gonna head down to Home Depot and see if they had anything I might be able to slap in there to keep out the dust and such.
Thanks

personally, i'm not crazy about the alien case. i haven't seen many of those types of cases that i think are well done... most come off as cheesy (in my opinion).

I wound up going with the Kingwin case. There are several features of the case that I like, and there were a couple things about the Alien that really bugged me. The Kingwin didn't include anything I didn't want, except the two front fans, which I'm replacing. The Alien came with a ton of stuff, some of which I didn't want to pay for. I'll make the case I want this way.
Most things I'm doing are really minor, but I'd like to put a blowhole in it. It's an aluminum case so it shouldn't be too hard to cut, but I was wondering if anyone can give me any advice or links of people that have done such operations before. One of the things I'm looking for is a way to line the hole. A gasket or something. I'd like to make it look nice, but I can't figure out where to get the stuff.
Thanks!

Yea, there are guides and some sites have templates you can print out to help.

Go to google and type in blowhole guide and you should get some results back that will help you.

check out the hardware store at the rubber door sealer strips.
honestly, if done right, that'll do the job nicely.
