I'm currently looking into buying a laptop and as many of you may know that when building a custom laptop on a website you're giving three options onboard a somewhat decent video card and then an upgraded version of that card. well in my scenario my option is a NVIDIA® GeForce™ Go 7600 with 128MB discrete graphics memory and a 256MB version.
So my question would be is getting the 256MB version over the 128MB version a smart choice. Is there any noticable difference, considering its a laptop and not a desktop
Thanks for any input _________________ Intel P4 3.2GHz HT 800 fsb*

It really depends on what you're using the laptop for. If it's primarily a work/school machine that will see very litle gaming, then no, you won't notice a difference between the two cards.
If you plan on gaming a bit, then the 256mb card is the way to go. Just make sure you like nVidia cards, as they are not interchangable with ATI cards.......each company uses a proprietary interface for laptop cards. So, if you go with nVidia now, and ATI comes out with a better vid card in six months, you're stuck. You won't be able to drop that ATI card into your laptop. _________________ Big enough to scare you |
