what is computer-to-computer wirless access?

I am not sure this is the right forum to ask. If not, please move this topic to the forum where it should be

I some time see a computer-to-computer wirless when I use my laptop at an airport. I wonder what it is (if there are some links out there which teach us how to set this thing up, it will be great).

computer to computer access doesnt allow you to use the internet. It makes it so if you have the proper network authentication you can share files and folders between computers. So... its just a network with not wireless internet access.
