I recently decided to use my mobo's onboard Via Envy 24 sound, for a few reasons, but I'm having an odd problem.
First off, the volume will not go all the way down, meaning that when the volume fader in Windows is all the way down, there is still sound coming from the speakers, at a listenable level.........if that makes sense. The only way to completely shut off any audio is to mute the main input.
Secondly, the headphone jack does not cut out the sound......again, the headphones work fine, but the audio coming from the speakers does not cut out completely, it only half-mutes the sound level.
I've tried various different drivers, checked my connections, even gone so far as to remove my mobo's riser card (which has the 7.1 speaker jacks and firewire jacks on it), to no avail. Anybody have any idea what's going on here? _________________ Big enough to scare you |
