I'm thinking of getting my wife a notebook for Xmas... the one I have in mind is an HP with XP MCE. I'd like to replace MCE with XP Pro at some point, but the HP sales guy said, "not recommended... couldn't guarantee functionality".

Any of you guys have any experience with this?
