Hi,
I just bought a DFI Lanpart NF4 ULTRA D and i have a Antec Trueblue 480W what power supply with a 20 Pin ATX connector.
Is it possible to connect the 20 Pin into the 24 Pin plug leaving 4 pins unconnected?

I was reading this review, and apparently its possible with the NF4 SLI DR.

"You have only a 20-pin PSU with a 4-pin power plug? No problem, plug them in this way and the board will work fine. However, especially if you are going to do some heavy overclocking, it is advised to use a 24+8 Pin PSU."

well if you read that than yes...i guess all is fine.....

....but, with that board....do you have some heavy hitter components in there? If you do, that 480 might not be enough as it is....

Do yourself a favor and get yourself a quality PSU with native 24-pin support and at least 550-600W.

Agreed with the other guys.

Yes, you can do it, but you really shouldn't. Those power connectors are there for a reason. New, quality PSU's are well worth your money, especially with all the gear you're cramming in there.

Nice! If that DFI chipset fan is too loud or starts making noise, you may want to look into replacing it with one of these:
http://www.jab-tech.com/Evercool-VC-RE-Twinkling-VGA-Cooler-pr-2291.html
It's cheap, very quiet and cools better than the stocker. It's also got red and blue LEDs if you're into that. I've got them on two of my DFI boards and can recommend them highly.

Thanks mate for the suggestion.

It's not noisy at all at the moment, its much more cooler and quieter than my old computer. The only thing thats kind of loud is the Antec case fan, and thats probably because its on high.

Looking good,

*warning, wireing troll tip*

If you really want to make it look nice then see if you can find a way to hide the wires, its also great for airflow, I'll post some pics of my rig at some point to show what I mean

Mojo gave some good advice on the chipset cooler fan, the stock fans are fairly loud and not the best quality.
