Good lookin' setup....of course the cable critics might have something to say.

Obviously, that cpu temp in BIOS is goofy.

lol whats that supposed to mean??

you really think that reading is bogus? that reading was with the case on it's side with the panel off, in a motel where the room was really cold... probably 65-70º. considering right now it's 29.3ºC in the room and PC Probe is reading 35º, with the case upright and closed, i can imagine that 20.5 was reasonably at the time.

I would agree.......looks like your mobo probe and CPU probe are reversed, given that the CPU temp on your pic of the case LCD is exactly the same as the temp for your mobo temp in the BIOS monitor.........and, it's very, very, VERY unlikely that your mobo chipset is running hotter than your CPU, unless you're talking watercooling.

yeahhh i noticed it after i took the pic. but i love it... amazing quality. 21" samsung syncmaster 1100p. the fact i got it for free probably helps, too haha. but... a really good lcd is probably my next major investment, computer wise. i know i won't get the kind of contrasts and black levels that a crt will, unless hdr lcd's magically become available and feasibly priced w/i the next 6 months-1yr or so.

btw, i checked the probes, and they're positioned in the right spots. the probe labeled cpu is wedged close to the center between the base and that bar that goes across it to secure the hs down; while the probe labeled sys is wedged in the center of the nb heatsink, between the fins and touching the base.

to be honest, the motherboard's temp sensor is somewhere around the southbridge. comparing cooling of the sb and cpu: passive aluminum heatsink vs. a copper base w/ (effectively) 6 heatpipes leading to .2mm thick copper fins cooled by a 92mm fan, it should be obvious which has the advantage. not to mention the fact that the 9500 is pretty competitive with at least entry level water cooling systems and the cpu has a TDP of only 65W sooo imho, that bios screenshot is correct. if you look around at threads from various forums reguarding the p5w dh, its pretty common to have chipset/mobo temps higher than cpu temps.

oh, btw, something i noticed about the case: the motherboard tray spans the entire horizontal length of the case. its meant to be a screwless design, but if you have drives (or thiings that go in drive bays) that arent conventional sizes (that dont fit on the rails provided) you may have to make some compromises. on the right side of the case, you only have access to screw holes for the top 2 5 1/2" bays, all the other bays on down are covered on the right side.

and, one other thing, dunno if i should post this here or start a new thread in overclocking, but does anyone have any experience in o/c'ing the pcie slots? there's a bunch of options for PEG-related parameters, and im not sure if messing with them would give me any tangible performance boosts. any thoughts on that?
