Hey Guys,
I'm just curious if anyone has an answer for this one...
I run World of Warcraft on Vista-64bit Edition. I run 8 gigs of RAM and a quad core Q9450. I can run 2 instances of the game at the same time (login on 2 accounts at the same time) BUT, it didn't work out the way i thought...i thought that the first instance of the game would run on CPU 1 and 2 (2 core threaded game only) and then the second instance of the game would run on CPU 3 and 4. Is there a way to FORCE the second instance of World of Warcraft to run specifically on CPU 3 and 4 so i do not get any lag?
Thanks!

Install one instance of WOW in a separate folder from the stock location. That will give you a separate executable which should work. _________________ Owner & Administrator

Actually i ended up finding out on my own...and for anyone else looking to do a similar thing here is what you do:
Run both instances of whatever you are trying to "dual-box"
THEN
Open up task manager, both instances should be there (mine was Wow.exe and there were 2 entries in the list of running processes) then, right click on one of the entries, then click "Perform administrative action" (not 100% sure exactly what it says there but click the only option available then go through the User Account Control stuff) then right click it again and then click "Set Affinity" and then when the new box comes up, click on the cores that you would like it to run on then click ok. You can skip the "Perform administrative action" step if the "Set Affinity" option is available when you right click the first time.
Worked perfectly for me, evening out the load on the CPU. All cores were at about 55-60% instead of cores 1 and 2 bing at 100% each and 3 and 4 at nearly 0. _________________ ASUS A8R-MVP
