If I was to replace the memory in this computer, could it handle PC 2700? It currently has PC2100 on a P4 2.53 northwood chip.

The motherboard has 2 ram slots, the 845 chipset. I was planning on putting 2 new 512 mb sticks in to make a gig...

A quick search of HP's memory finder says that that rig will run up to 2gb of DDR400 (PC3200) RAM, but you might need "HP branded" RAM to make it work. Just buy from a place that has a liberal return policy, in case it doesn't boot afterwards.

Ok thats what I thought. It had 2100, so I was gonna replace it with 2700 and good timings and see what kinda performance I can get from it. My dad does work on that computer, and he says its slow when he has alot of apps open, so I told him to upgrade to a gig of 2700, and a fresh install of windows. Now if I can only get the time to do it...

-Thanks guys
