From the company that brought you AVG and we all know that we LOVE that program, I introduce you to EWIDO.
Grisoft has come out with yet another stellar product for free. How do they do it?
All I know is I love it:
Info:
http://www.ewido.net/en/
Latest Dowload location:
http://free.grisoft.com/softw/70free/setup/ewido-setup_4.0.0.172a.exe
Just kill the resident shield and the start up with windows by right clicking the system tray icon and then after that go start-run go into services.msc and disable the ewido service for it.
That way you don't have to have it running all the time, but it will still be operational through manual scans. _________________ Owner & Administrator

Well, in the grand scheme of things, beer always wins.
I've been using it, and I'm pretty happy so far. Gonna play with the free version a bit more before I plunk down the bucks to buy it.........but if it's as good as AVG (which I did buy), then I'll probably give them some money. _________________ Big enough to scare you |

Wow, I haven't ever bought the full versions seeing the others do what I need. _________________ Owner & Administrator

dammit....i submitted "yes" by accident...i meant to click off beer.
Anyway, i was introduced to this yesterday after hours of virus searching. I liked what i saw....and yes, i might by the full version too. Looks pretty nice, and found stuff that has never been found before.
In all reality, we need to expect the chenging of software vendors over time.....this crap just gets written around it, and the need to move on becomes more apparent.
....speaking of virus.... _________________

| well, the latest update to this program is now AVG Anti-Spyware. Works some wonders. Great program, works very well and picks up a lot of bugs. I suggest doing nathans tweaks though because it can be a resource hog if its left running in the backround. |

Yes, I like the AVG rendition much better. More streamlined and, well, I've come to really trust the AVG icon. Makes me feel safe.
Not only that, it finds all kinds of s***. |
