I dont know if this is the right board to post it on but please bare with me on this.
I have a steering wheel for PC racing games (it only works for PC) the steering wheel connects via USB, I want to know if there is a way to use the steering wheel on Playstation2 games. Playstation 2 of course has USB hookups.
The steering wheel is a old microsoft one.
If you need any more information let me know. |

hmm...not sure if you can.....
I dont believe that PS2 would have the necessary drivers to use the steering wheel. The PS2 steering wheels work like a PS2 controller....each range of motion is set up to coincide with one of the controller buttons or axis. _________________

Vice versa would surely work. I know there are plenty of drivers out there to enable use of PS2 and Xbox360 controllers(wheels too) on your PC, but highly unlikely to use with your other systems. _________________ Remember When Sex was safer than racing???

Ya that makes sense, one thing I read a while back somewhere but never actuly tried was you can cut the wire from a xbox control and then connect it to a cut PS2 control by connecting all the same colors to each other and then use it on the opposite system. Does this make sense? Can it actuly work, if it will would it make sense that it can work with the wheel by connecting it to the wires from a broken PS2 control?
Thanks :) |

Hmm not positive if it would work, but it might.
I've seen someone take an Xbox controller and put a USB connection on it to get it to work on the PC. Of course, Xbox controllers are basically USB, just a weird connection. _________________ Love Is Not Enough... |

Thanks for the link and everything, but is it just me or did this thread get interesting
I think I may have a few extra broken controls that I can cut up and try this out, ill let you all know how it worked out.
I think it will be alot cooler if I can get this to work by cutting them and re-wiring them rather then buying the other thing.
Much Thanks,
Ill let you know how this turns out.
