hey guys,i bought some ram,its DDR 400,but when i plug it in,it only shows 512mb of ram,but it is supposed to be 7** wat,is it because i am using pc 3200 and the other is pc 2100?

yes, remove the pc2100. Never mix speeds of RAM, I avoid even mixing capacities. 512 of DDR400 is better that 728 running at DDR266. DDR266 = PC2100. If you put different speeds of ram together they just both default to the lowest speed.

You should see a nice performance jump with that

depending on the board, it may only be reading 1 side of the ram

Thats his mobo, I think its probably a speed incompatability issue.
