i would recommend painting it black (there are a couple of great painting guides available online) and than adding a coat of UV reactive paint... Make it really look cool!

(i did that with mine, painted inside blue and sprayed blue uv reactive paint...looks cool, but i need a new case now)

The only downside I could see is the paint chiping when you do any upgrading.

Hrm... I can't detach the optical drive cage. That could be a pain in the butt to paint. I also have a radiator on the top taht I'm not entirely comfortable removing. Think I should take the plunge and drain the coolant, remove the radiator, remove all teh components, and pain teh inside? sounds kind of scary. I don't know if I'm ready to do that yet.

Some nice stickers would also make it look cool, you could line the inside with some cool looking vynal and it would save you removing the radiator, I have seen this done to good effect.

I don't think you'd actually have to remove the hoses and such from the radiator, unless its mounted outside.......if it's a typical WC system, you should be able to unscrew it, cover it with a plastic shopping bag, and move it out of the way enough to keep it from getting sprayed.

Personally, on my last system, I didn't paint the inside, I did as Xal suggested, and covered the offending parts with either vinyl tape, or "hazard" stickers I got from a local electrical supply shop. I wouldn't worry too much about the inside of the optical drive cage, if you're like anybody else here, you have two optical drives and at least one fan controller, so that inner surface is likely to be covered with drives anyway, not seen when the drives are mounted.

yes I did that to my case, link here www.racingda87stang.com

and I had to take off the top and side panels, as well as the front

as for the drive cages, they were rivited so I just worked around them, I used a flat black primer, seeing as how its inexpensive, and i didnt really want to get TOO wow with reflective paints. I also used the primer as it wont chip away, it will only scratch or show rub marks (also a flaw when trying to clean.
