Ok, so here is my work machine:

P4 3.0
MSI Neo2
NOW 2 gigs Kingston Value Ram
Two HDD's
Opticals...blah blah
Antec 430PSU

So installed the new ram...and of COURSE, no post.....

So i cleared Cmos...worked. Reset things in BIos....reset....no post.....
Next, i manually set the Ram timings. 3-4-4-8 with a burst of 8. Posted, booted fine.

Now, all seemed ot be ok, but the machine just rebooted on me a few times wuthouth warning, only a few minutes into using it. So, first things first, memtest. Passes two passes with flying colors.

Then...heat? So i installed MBM5 and it is idling a bit high....but within normal levels.....nothing scary yet.

Any ideas?

Prolly want to bump your vdimm a smidge. More load on the regulators are prolly making your voltage sag a bit.

**clears throat** Of course Dells, won't let you set your Vdimm. ;-P

How's your Vcore setting reading back in your bios?
Are you sure that is really that hot or is MSI and MBM playing tricks?

60C is on the upper end of what I would call okay, but I would definetely keep an eye on it. Reseating sure wouldn't hurt and might give you peace of mind.

I've had the same problem with some Kingston Value ram. I ran the test and even bumped the Vmem to 2.8v and still acted up. I tried some corsair value ram from a friends puter and the problem was gone. I dont think the kingston value ram is good.....or you and I must have gotten a bad bacth.

I would pick Dell over a Mac.

Hey 2 old, did you get flooded?!?!

You have caught up!! I told you it was addicting, didn't I?

TH, you have been tweaking long enough to know you should have bumped the vdimm the very first thing. Shame shame! Sometimes you disappoint me, my son. Razz
