My wifi router just took a dump and fried. I have the Dual-Band A+G Router and worked great until this lightning storm. I had everything on a surge peotector as well as the other computers linked by wire had thier own protectors. (Belkin brand) The funny thing is that the lights never went out nor flickered. What the router does now is broad cast a wifi signal 100% but the internet nor the ethernet lights come on. There is power, and the wireless A & G light fliker. I cant even get in to the router menu through the web browser. This is the model# WRT55AG. Any thoughts to what might have happend? BTW, nothing happend to any thing else and the router was plugged in to a Belkin battery backup + surge protector...its rated 1100VA. _________________ Asus M2N32-SLI Deluxe, AM2 4600 x2, 150GB Raptor Exteme, 7900GTX in SLI Corsair XMS DDR2 CAS3, Custom DD Water Cooling |

Unplug both your cable modem and your router, hold the reset button on the router for about 10 - 15 seconds, then plug everything back in. You should be able to get into the router setup after that. If not, report back here with your findings. _________________ "....Or as almost every word in a sentence; Tweak the tweaking tweakers!"

I'm sorry....I forgot to mention I've done all the trouble shooting and nothing works. (reset button, unplug power, tried 4-5 different cat5 and cat6 cables, check the modem....<<its working....but the router is still not showing internet nor eithernet activity. Man, I even tried each pc at a time.....nothing.
Oh yeah...I put the modem strait to one of the PCs and the modem works fine. _________________ Asus M2N32-SLI Deluxe, AM2 4600 x2, 150GB Raptor Exteme, 7900GTX in SLI Corsair XMS DDR2 CAS3, Custom DD Water Cooling |

Oh, in that case it is my unprofessional, yet educated, opinion that your router is boffed. Sorry. (I was going to have you update the firmware if you could get into the setup) Say a prayer for it then introduce it to Mr. Louisville Slugger for some stress relief.
The good news is....... Time for a new toy. I recommend looking into a N router. Its compatable with B and G, but faster than both. Then once you get an adapter to match it you'll be in business. _________________ "....Or as almost every word in a sentence; Tweak the tweaking tweakers!"
