mind maps is very useful thing when you discussing ideas, making decisions and also plannig something (for example, project). They enables you to present information in a simple, visual way by building trees of ideas.
The mind map makes the understanding much easier.

As for me, I'm using them everywhere! It's very good way for solving problems.

ok this sounds very cool.....and very inviting, however i fail to see your enthusiasm about this concept...unless i am drastically missing something.

I solve many issues using a sort of "mental mind map" i break things down for separate analysis and so on.....is there something more that i am missing? i just thought i did that cuz i was compensating for "not performing to my potential" ;D

I am thinking this is a rather coy attempt for free advertising.

Maybe, maybe not. I've posted a couple of things in the past regarding an oddball piece of software that I thought people might find interesting.

Mind mapping is very popular with the "executive crowd", and with engineers with more projects than time. Say, you're working on three seperate projects at the same time. Using a "mind map" helps some people keep each project seperate, and allows them to move from one to the other without having to rethink alot of the process. Using a very simple analogy........

Say that you drive the same way to work every day, with no variations. Now, say you have to make a couple of stops off of your regular route. Mapping each route seperately (work to car repair to home, work to dry cleaners to home, work to home) then comparing the three can often show you a shortcut or more efficient way to complete all three tasks, with a minimal amount of added driving time.

Anyway, it's popular with group projects, as it allows each member of the group to visually "map" where they are in a given project, and allows for a more streamlined approach, as it more readily points out similarities in tasks......say, somewhere along the line, two people on different ends of a project find that they're both doing the same task, basically doubling the man hours and workload. To an extent, MS Project is a form of "mind mapping" in a collaborative environment.

It's not particularly effective for a single individual, though.
