Looks like to me it's a main graphics board with one GPU hardwired with a bridge chip to a daughterboard with another GPU. I can't really see if there's two full sets of VRAM there or not, though.
There's more Quad-SLI ideas appearing, some using replacable GPU modules (so, ideally, you could buy two SLI cards with a single GPU each, then add two more matching GPUs for less than two full cards, or upgrade from, say, an nVidia 8600GT to an 8900XUPH (eXtremely Useless Power Hog) for lower cost.
This one, though, sorta looks like Dell's quad SLI, in a way. Same idea, but only needs two X16 slots instead of four. Coolings gotta be a beyatch, though, since I can't see how the inner core is cooled. _________________ Big enough to scare you |
