so my girlfriend got an intel 805 and i let it happen
For the price,
Intel 805 for 165$C
Intel d101gcc for 80$C
Thermaltake TR2 60$C
2 x 1024 Crucial 160$C
for a grand total of 465$ canadian plus taxes
just board and cpu for a dual core athlon would have cost me that.
and as much as i would have preffered AMD, for that price, amd can't come close. She does mostly photoshop and some internet, and doesn't believe in closing programs when she is done with it.

anyways, got the cpu in today which was the final part i was missing, and myself and my coworkers couldn't resist playing with it first.
air cooling using 2x1024 crucial rendition, a generic PSU and an asus p5ld2 (not my choice, i was pushing for a dfi but was overruled) we managed to get the FSB from 133 to 213 before it stopped posting... that takes the two cores from 2.66 to 4.26. Whether it's stable at that speed or not i'm not sure as we didn't have the time to load up windows and test stability and benchmark, it still was impresive to see a post
Intel pentium(R) 5 2.66 x 2
@ 4.26 x 2
it was an older bios so for some reason it detected the 805 as a p5 cpu
I'm sure with the proper hardware, and some patience you can get some pretty sweet overclocks off this one (carefull though many higher end boards won't support 533fsb).

Sweet OC, pity you can't check for stability.
