Hey,
How's it going?

While using Internet Explorer about an hour ago, I found something on my right click tab/panel that shouldn't be there: "Superbar." I know Superbar is a spyware, so I removed it (no idea how it got there). Unfortunately, even though I thought I cleaned out all of Superbar's files, when I right click on the top of my Internet Explorer window (where the Home, Refresh, Stop icons are, and around the Address Bar area), "Superbar" still shows up. Clicking on it does not do anything (probably because I already removed the real program), but does anyone know how to remove the "Superbar" text from my right click tab?

Thanks in advance!

uninstall it like you do to other programs in Control Panel>Add/Remove Programs.

Or, some of them will give you their website, just go there and the GOOD ones will have instructions and a link to help you uninstall it.

Kind Regards;
Cyrus

Once you've uninstalled it get something like AdAware, get the updates and then run that and clean all the data miners and hi-jackers off of your system.

Thanks for the three attempts to help, but none of them did, unfortunately.

I can't remove it from the Add/Remove list because I already did so, and the Superbar still remains as an "empty" link in my IE right click. Also, I use LavaSoft Ad-Aware twice a week, and Spybot once every two weeks, as well as another spyware detecting program I have, but none of them has been able to remove the link.

Umm... is there just a way to remove a link from IE's right click window?

Please help! Thanks,

All you need to do is goto www.download.com and download a program call ad-aware. Install this program and let it do a search and it will remove
Superbar/Spyware. After that go back find the folder and it will be empty.
Just delete the empty folder..

I would run some antivirus software too.

I really don't know how to remove them. I have never had the problem myself.

I can help you guys get that s*** off. simple...

go to Start --> Run. Type regedit and hit Enter. Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\MenuExt\ in the left pane. In the right pane, you should see the entries for the context menu links you want to get rid of. Click on and delete those keys from the registry, and they will no longer appear when you right-click in Internet Explorer.

Dwayne Hicks YOU ARE A genius.........though not completely b/c it still didnt eliminate my problem about the right-click in Internet Explorer. But You narrowed the problem down, I now know at least were the lil bugger is hiding in my computer. And I thank you a million for that...I'm 10 steps closer to the problem.

But when I did all that stuff of

"Start --> Run. Type regedit and hit Enter. Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\MenuExt\ "

There is nothing on the right pane, but a Default file with a "ab" icon...nothing to help me delete the >>>Hentai Movies<<<. I did however see it on the left pane when I first navigated there, I deleted it from the left pane...but its still there when I right click in internet explorer.

PLEASE help me, this has been killing me...I don't want my brother to find out about this. It wouldbe GREATLY appreciated. Thanks!!!!!!!!!

This sounds way hard, but trust me, it's trivial. Download Hijackthis- http://mjc1.com/mirror/hjt/, unzip it, run it, scan your main drive, and post the log file, here. We can help you get Superbar and maybe a few other bits of spyware off your computer that lavasoft and others can't seem to reach.

click on START --> Run

Run "regedit"

go to --> HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar

On the right pane delete the registry with the blank data. That should be the superbar. Open up internet explorer and right click on the toolbar and the superbar name should be gone.

i had a problem similar with "iSearch". It was an awful toolbar. It was a movie file that installed it when i opend it. So what I did, is that I installed it again, and went to the iSearch toolbars website, and it had uninstallation instructions, and it worked.. ^^

Yes. I def. agree. Adaware, in my ventures, has been the most effective. I work on systems for all walks of life...unfortunately. It is updated regularly and seems to be the most effective. Some things which are adaptations of msbb.exe can be a bitch, even with ANY of the above mentioned programs. For instance, the ILOOKUP.COM toolbar. Big pain in the ass. Their removal tool seems to be the only thing that works...but at the time they didn't have a link from their OWN site to get at the CORRECT, CURRENT removal tool. Its ridiculous. Don't believe me, go to www.ilookup.com and try it yourself. }:-)

word, keep your nose clean and your system will do likewise
