Although, everything are working fine now, I found a very interesting problem of my system. If I plug all the mini-jacks all the way into the control center panel, there will be no sound coming from the rear right speaker when I use the 6 Ch. Direct mode. However, the interesting part is, if I pull the black (rear) mini-jack out a little bit so that it's not plugged all the way in, rear right speaker works properly in all modes including the 6 Ch. Direct. Besides all these, the system is perfect. Do any of you think that my system is faulty in this regard? And hence I should take it back for an exchange?
Thanks

Wrong section, you should post this in the Sound and Audio forum.

What speakers are we talking about here, and what soundcard? I need a bit more to go on.

take the left rear speaker and plug it into the right rear jack all the way, and determine what comes out... the only time ive ever had this problem, was when i had a short in the speaker cable, and so it would work in mono, plugged in a little bit, but not stereo, plugged in all the way....

My speaker is the Logitech Z-5500. The plug that I was talking about is the one at the back of the control center panel. Thanks.

Sounds like a faulty cable, then. Pulling the plug out halfway connects both positives on the plug to one on the jack, so you're only getting mono sound on the rear speakers.

Have Logitech replace them, if under warranty.

Fussnfeathers, I've done another test according to your suggestion. What I did was to connect the black plugs behind the control center panel and sound card using the lime (front) cable and vice versa. End result, exactly the same thing happened. ie. no sound from the rear right speaker. That means it doesn't have anything to do with the analog cables. Must be the plug/connector in the control center. Damn! What a hassle to bring it back.

Eh, it happens. Even the best QC misses a few bad parts now and then. I assume you changed the cable completely (at both the soundcard and control pod) to rule out a possible bad soundcard jack as well.............sounds like you did.

Yup, exchange them for a new set.
