I recently picked up an NVIDIA QUADRO NVS 280 PCIe video card

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=8736006073

and the appropriate adapter to use the card. For some reason, the monitor does nothing on boot. I don't even get a glimpse of the bios. Something which concerned me was the card that was packaged only in bubble wrap, which to the best of my knowledge, is not anti-static.

Is this thing toast or am I missing something?

Also note:
There is no onboard video
I did remove previous drivers

You're using the right adapter? And using the #1 plug for your display? Does the system appear to boot up, or do you get the typical "three beep" no video error on post?

It could be toast, yes.............bubble wrap is very staticky stuff. I would be contacting the seller, that's not appropriate material to be sending electronic parts in.

Aye, I was using the appropriate adapter, not to mention that I tested both the #1 and #2 ports. Here's what I sent to the seller:

I received the NVIDIA Quadra NVS 280 card, but upon testing it found it to be non-functional. One concern of mine involving this card was the packaging. To my knowledge, bubble-wrap isn't an anti-static packaging material suitable for use on components such as this. What is your procedure for circumstances such as this?
Thanks.
Ben

Let's hope he responds...........I see in his feedback that there's been at least one problem with the vid cards he's selling, but apparently he fixed the problem right away.

Good luck.

Yeah, with 100+ positive feedback, I don't expect any issues. Confused
