What the hell is wrong with this? Cant ever have a decent game without 'your connection has a problem'. WHYYYYY?! Firewalls off, all the router settings are correct (added all the ports from the manual), every application is turned off including messenger, but still no avail. Anyone else had this? And do you have a cure?

what type of internet connection do you have?
What ISP?
all of this can play into your problems.

Well, you have a low upload speed..........100kbs. That's part of the problem.

1mbs isn't a whole lot, especially for an online game like BF2. Make sure nobody else on your network is using it for anything, and turn down all your graphics settings to the "just above awful" setting. Remember that you're downloading everybody else's moves, so the higher your graphics setting, the more you're having to download and render on your machine.

Also remember that you're on cable, and if you're in a busy neighborhood with alot of other cable subscribers, you're gonna lag. You're sharing your connection with everybody else on your node.

You can try this...........go to www.dslreports.com and click on the Tools section. There's instructions on how to sortof "tweak" Windows for a slightly better connection, and it does work.

I wouldnt say its his connection speed giving him problems. Im on 576kbps ADSL with 288kbps upload.

Speed ratings are slightly different in UK compared to USA, his upload speed would also be 288kbps with a download of 1024kbps...i have never had internet issues with BF2.

Make sure you've patched the game, its had about 5 released so far....ill assume its a legit copy. Make sure your internet connection is setup correctly in the ingame menu (shouldnt make a difference, but when it comes to EA and PC games i do my best to keep everything as relevant and accurate as possible)
