New Monitor

Just upgraded form my old 17 inch to a 19' philips 109 B6. My questions are do phiips make good monitors and the picture quality is ok but not great. I think i rember reading somewhere that you need to burn in a monitor, is this true. I can play quake 4 and doom 3 at 1152 x 865 a 100 mhz and it is good and clear but i wanted to know if burning in a monitor helps and if so is there a way to do it or just normal use and a bit of time ?
