Aw, crap..........you gotta use the Mouseware?? Are you 100% positive, Yosh? The 518 doesn't require it for the DPI change.

Reason I ask is because MouseWare messes with Cubase, or at least the regulare MouseWare for my MX700 does.

True, it won't be a real worthwhile upgrade but the weight distribution and the higher resoulution make it worthwhile to some people.

I agree. I like a heavier mouse, so the weight thing would be great for me. I was actually looking at it, either that or the G7..........but if they need the Mouseware stuff to run, I won't be getting either, I'll go with the MX1000.

FTR,

Stop the opinionated and factless crap would you. Just because there is a thread does not mean you have to post telling people what is better than the other when YOU DON'T HAVE A FRIGGIN CLUE WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT NOR DO YOU OWN THE PRODUCT YOU ARE SAYING IS WORSE.

IF YOU DON'T KNOW OR OWN IT, THEN SHUT IT!

I am seriously getting sick of your baseless bullshit comments based on nothing but you virtual use of a product that you have never owned.

LAST WARNING!

If you don't own it, then don't say it is worse than something else. I have had enough, I have been patience, I have been nice, but your thread crapping and immature pointless garbage has pushed me over the edge.

If one more person or if I personally see one more baseless, pointless, opinionated, factless post from you, you will be taking a vacation from here for a long time.

This forum is made to inform people, not mislead them with garbage comments from a bored individual. Mad

I think we went over this before, bro. You don't like the weight of a cordless. I don't mind it, in fact, a corded mouse is almost too light for me. I happen to love my MX700 for gaming, but it needs replacing. I don't use the MouseWare for software compatibility reasons, so I was interested in the G5, loaded out with a good set of weights for my big ole paws.

In short, I'm not a wimp that can't handle a few extra ounces, and in fact, I like them.

Get the $#$*@*#$ over yourself.

You can bet your LLAMA that I will disagree

While some people may have issues with the MX1000, I have to say it's a VERY well designed, VERY comfortable mouse, with outstanding battery life. it works on nearly ANY surface that one would expect a mouse to work on, the buttons are placed just right for my average size hands, and I would say anything more precise would be wasted on me Very Happy

This is after using it every single day, for nearly a year.

Back on topic.....I really would miss the "forward" and "Aplication Switch" buttons, the latter i have set to close the active window, and i have NEVER hit the wrong thumb button in a game.

Great review

nathan i have used the MX1000 and i know what i am talking about im a serious gamer and im about to be a professional gamer as in getting paid to play i know what the best is and what is not that good, the MX1000 compared to the MX518 is not that much better of a mouse, 1 thing its wireless 2 it may be laser but the only think it has over the 518 is terms of tracking is that will track on just about any surface as the 518 will not, the 518 is the best gaming mouse out right now along side the Razor Diamondback only reason why the Diamondback doesnt sell or is as popular is the design is weird for a lot of people, and ham no offence but people will agree with me that for the price the MX1000 is not a tremendous mouse that you claim it to be. The G5 is only 200 more DPI than the 518 and its wireless, if you havent learned already wireless + gaming = bad idea trust me on this one, a wired mouse will always respond faster than a wireless mouse for the time being mabye in a few years or months wireless will be better or the same but right now no wireless mouse will stand up to a good wired mouse such as the MX518 nathan i would appreciate if you would know about what i know before you make irrational post about how i know nothing at all, im about to get paid to play games so i need the absolute best hardware possible so that way the hardware does not interfeir with my gaming, i use the MX518 the Icemate Siberias and the Steelpad QcK+, when you become a professional gamer as i have you will understand my reasoning of why the G5 and the MX1000 are not good mice to have. And you may say that not everyone is a gamer but all of the MX series mice are for gamers logitech makes other mice for normal computer users.

"The G5 is only 200 more DPI than the 518"
200? try 4,000.

you aren't the only agressive gamer here, and unless you've actually used the G5 for more then a week i would really post any one-sided opinions. you cant really appreciate a mouse untill you've had the time to get adjusted to it. And you cant really say that people dont like the diamond back because it has a "weird shape for most", that is an opinion.

im sorry its 400 more DPI the MX518 has 1600 and the G5 has 2000. The weight adjustment is a good step but not for the price.

First of all, you are comparing apples to oranges. The MX518 is a corded gaming mouse and the MX1000 is a cordless laser mouse and you are comparing them like they are the same which is the first sign that you don't know what you are talking about.

Oh, so now you have used it liek the 100s of other things you have used and commented on that turned out being a complete lie.

You just don't know where to start.

Ummmm...no, it is 400dpi more resolution, but thanks for trying, again, you don't even know the numbers you are referencing.

AND GUESS WHAT BRAIN WAVE, THE G5 IS CORDED! YES!! IT IS CORDED, NOT WIRELESS, CORDED, WOW!

Can you say you pwned yourself there?

LMAO! Yea, you are a super L33t paid gamer making lots of money so therefore you opinion means something. Again, this comes up right out of the blue without you mentioning this before and I can almost guarantee you are full of it.

LOL, LOOK AT ME, I AM A PROFESSIOANL GAMER WITH A MOUSE AND A HEADSET AND A MOUSEPAD LIKE EVERY COMPUTER USER ON THE INTERNET. I AM THE BEST BUT YET I AM ARGUING THE G5 IS CORDLESS AGAIN WHEN IT IS A CORDED MOUSE.

Wow, hope you gaming skills are better than your reasoning. Again, your arguement is nothing and you thing that because you are a gamer means you know everything just makes me peee myself in my chair laughing.

Listen, I run a review site and the first thing I will declare is I don't know everything and I don't argue when I don't have a clue.

FreeTheRock wrote:

Wow, yea, only gamers can use the MX series don't they.

They can't use them for anything else.

And I end this post with a final farewell to you FTR and I hope your 1337 gaming skills and your super special mousepad and headset get you far in your "professional" gaming career.

Look, I am going to go play BF2 for a while, guess I am a professional too. You see, I have a headset, a mouse pad and OMG! I have a MX518 here. That means it is the bestest mouse in the whole wide world.

I especially like the "MX series are for gamers" when the MX series also includes the MX1000 and MX2000......which are wireless......and therefore bad for gamers......

Thank you, Nathan. From the heart of my bottom.

I would like to say thakns as well. Pretty much any thread he posted in, from the first time he posted, I would just avoid. I'm surprised it took this long.

But like I mentioned earlier, I'll probably be getting the G5 shortly. Good review.
