I was looking around, killing time and I saw this.

render stations. And no they arent good for gaming. for one look at the price and their performance in games is about on par with a sub $100 card.

^^^^ Right.

Most game programmers will use them, but only to render one piece at a time, not to actually run a game. The detail those cards put out on a static image is astounding. For example, id used those cards to render all the graphics, frame by frame, but it'll NEVER run Doom 3.

Video editors/movie studios love them, too, just for that reason.

So people who.....say work for Pixar would use this kind of card...right? I just freaked out on the specs. 512 MB mem.. And the PCI-E says 640!!! Shock I was like, "that cant be...they would be all over the forums" But now I know why. Just imagine what they "could" do if they were moddable to run games. Do ya feel me?

I looked at those a while ago, 3D labs is a division of Creative. I was like OH SKEET whenI saw the specs.
