Well I've had my eye on the COOLER MASTER Wave Master TAC-T01-E1C Silver Case. And I am wondering what you all think of it, and if it will keep a Pentium D 820 cool. (If needed I will put a side blowhole on it as well.)
Thanks. |

| i have the case but mine is blue you cant go wrong with it, its a much higher quality aluminum than most cases use trust me as soon as you touch the inside you will drool over the quality put into the wavemaster, and im not sure if you know this but the Thermaltak Tsunami was derived from the wavemaster which Tt did admit. Its a great case and keeps my computer running cool, the 2 front fans and the 1 rear fan is good enough cooling but i have amd64 which runs a lot cooler than your processor but im sure it will be fine, my comp runs at about 30C-40C never going above 40C under load. |

It's a favorite case of modders.............MaxPC used it a year or so ago, with a minor blowhole mod, and loved it. The CM Praetorian is basically the same case, with better airflow, for a few more bucks.
I would buy a WaveMaster myself, if I didn't need more room. _________________ Big enough to scare you |

it's a good case, but to be honest with you. I would be looking for a case that uses 120mm fans. They move alot of air with very little noise. With the 820 you will want good airflow trust me on this. The ones I would be looking at is the Gigabyte case (like 2o and Josh just got) or an Antec P160 (not the cheesy 180). Even the Tt case that is the rip-off of the wavemaster would be a good choice as it uses 120mm fans as well. _________________ I tweaked and it tweaked back! So I Tweaked some more!

That really was a concern of mine. I've been using 80mm fans for years, and now almost every case is using 120s. A quiet case would be a huge plus.
I just took a look at the antec p160, and honestly its a little to funky for my taste. I would really like a nice clean case. (Lan Li, is a little too pricey for me) |

Just an FYI....Zipzoomfly now carries the Gigabyte cases.
They are pretty much available now. The only real gripe I have with it, is that if you have a mobo that has a 90 degree connector for IDE or floppy, it is real tight putting the cable in....real tight.
[hijack] sneak preview.....2y's new case...and looks very similar inside to the Gigabyte only has a single 120 in the rear instead of two.

| It has always been my experience that a 120 mm fan at low speed moves much more air than an 80mm at high speed and is much quieter. Personally, I don't care for the look of the wave-style cases and don't really like cases with doors in general, but get what YOU like. Personally, I'd go with the Antec P-160 as I've had experience with them, but the Gigabyte Aurora looks very tempting as well, though I've not had any experience with it. |

^^^Seconded^^^
I like the P160 alot, but it is one color. The Gigabyte offers the black color if (in my situation) it matches better or is just prefered.
The Gigabyte case has one of the best security (aka decent locks) systems of any tower I've dealt with. If room mates are ever an issue. _________________ .

| I think the Gig case is also somewhat water friendly as well. Right? |

Yes it is....But the 160 is also used alot for top mounted rads because it has a smidge more room on top. Great for a modder.
Both are very good cases. _________________ .

ABS builds computers.......my guess is they buy a ton of cases, label them ABS (for obvious reasons), then sell off the unused ones at a decent price.
No, they're not the same company. _________________ Big enough to scare you |

| About halfway up I posted two links. I am comparing two cases, and to me they look the same. I am wondering if the ABS case that newegg has is the same as the Coolermaster that is on newegg as well. The only difference I can find is the front door. |

| ABS is a gaming company that sells gaming computers mainly and some regular computers all they do is take the Wavemaster and they personalize it for their use. |

Right. The moron got one right.
They're the same cases, Hoedizzy. One was just bought by ABS and labeled for their systems, didn't get used, so it's being sold. Same Coolermaster case, same quality, and brand new. _________________ Big enough to scare you |
