Yep....It was on my short list when I ordered my new case last week. Looks to have some nice features.

Kinda plain on the outside...which is cool by me. I'm really getting tired of cases that .... look like they came from an alien disco. offtheair Dancing

looks sleek. My only concern would be the shifting of stuff on the inside to put the PSU on the bottom. If your 20/24 pin connector is near the top, you might have trouble squeezing it behind the optical drives. Same goes for cable length, that's been a shortfall of some of those designs. I'd get some measurements, figure where your mobo PSU connectors are, and measure your PSU cables. Most should be alright, but better safe than sorry.

I like the case too. In fact I was considering it for the xeon builds but they are supposed to be budget and this case doesnt fit in that category.
But I do like that case.

i hate the case... I've built a number of them, and it is one of the most retarded designs ever.
#1 you have to watch what PSU you get, in some, the cables may not be long enough to reach all the important stuff.
#2 you have to watch what SIZE PSU you get, since most of the high end psu's are a little longer than normal, they won't fit in the case because of the fan that antec puts in the middle. It will either chew up the wires, or prevent the PSU from even fitting.
#3 the hinge for the front door is some of the cheapest plastic i've ever seen.
#4 the plastic duct thing that they add on the inside is more of a hinderance than a help. It screws everything up

That being said, i have to admit, if built with the right parts, it can be very quiet,,,
but i'll take a lian-li for quiet over the antec any day.

For $50 less you can get a much better case.

Antec makes good products but they are just too expencive for what you get, just like their PSU's.

meobius the psu size issue can be said about some Lian-Li's too.But yes I agree that can be real problems. With that said I really liked the P160 (maybe thats why I have two). And I will pass on the P180.

Point taken, but poor example. The antec is an inovative case with a unique style and quasi-smart borrowed design (albiet, it does look alot like a refrigerator). The WaveMaster is just the most standard case possible internally with the same internal layout (and features) as the bottom of the barrel cases have. No tool-less drives, motherboard tray, or other fun features to set it apart. With the WaveMaster, you are still paying over a hundred dollars for plane-jane with a splash of blue paint.

Here's a counter to the wavemaster: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16811170014
Almost $40 less and same essential materials and layout (less blue paint and facia). Notice that it still doesn't look like a sci-fi prop.

I must admit, that Antec case looks alot like this Lian-Li: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16811112052

Sally, the first case you list is the one of my favorites. I have two of em and now that I am thinking about it will probably get three more. The removable motherboard tray on those is the best. It houses the add-in card slots too. So you can assemble the motherboard and all the cards and then insert it into the case. The more I talk about it the more I think I am going to get them. Thanks for bringing that up Sally. shoots my budget xeon builds out the window but at least I will have computers that are going to be easy to work on.

I have to agree there. Most cases with the same features as the Antec are in the $140-170 price range. ThermalTake's Xazer, some of CoolerMaster's cases, and definitely Lian Li and Silverstone. I don't think the price is out of line.

Thank meobius......

Yeah i looked at that case FTR...but its just not my style on the ext.

Ok boys. Here's the challenge. Im looking into getting a new case, with obvious concerns in mind. Air flow, room, appearance...in that order.

I would like to stay under well under $150 but i will bend for the right case.
Stipulations are: Simple, Simple Window (can be small), Large mid tower, must fit with black and silver theme....not cheaply built.

1....2.....3... GO!

I just went through this myself....ended up with the gigabyte...but for particular reasons. (which you'll all see soon...I hope)

Yep, CM I've always liked (but I don't like usb/audio out the top) and Lian Li is good stuff. I'm kinda luke warm on Silverstone, but these are just opinions.

ASYS....?

hehe just ordered two of the Kingwins. Now I have to play musical cases at home to free up the third kingwin. Going to take the PVR out of that case and install it in the Sonota.

TH I hope you find a case you like as well. As 2o and I have discussed choosing a case can be one of the hardest parts of building a computer these days

The way that case is designed, it really doesn't need a side intake. The blowhole on the top *should* make up for that.

I'm deciding between the Armor, the GB, or........if I come into a windfall, the TT Tai Chi case. Hydraulically opening side door...........how cool is that??

That Tai Chi case is nice. I like the way the case opens with two doors.......all this makes me start thinking about upgrading my rig.

1 the wavemaster does have a removeable tray and it has USB and Audio at the top of the case both of those make it stand out, 2nd that case you listen thats a comparision, it is not, the case that is the closest to the wavemaster is the Thermatake Tsunami and they even admit that they took the design from the wavemaster whent he Tsunami first came out.

Point taken. I didn't even think to consider the Wavemaster's relationship to the Tsunami; nor did I notice the MB tray.
I am with you that the Antec is a bit of an extravogent purchase.

We will be starting to review Antec units soon here at Tweaknews.

Antec has contacted us and soon our reviewers will be getting their products for evaluation.

Stay tuned.

On another note guys, can you help TN out by posting the pricegrabber link to these products instead of just one store, they could probably get it cheaper somewhere else other than newegg.

Thanks for your site support.

Shouldn't be, the Armor has foam filters behind the front panels........I think. If not, some Swiffer sheets taped behind them will work.

Honestly, it shouldn't be a real big issue. I had four cats in CT, and I rarely saw a hair in my case.
