thx for the good review of the kit..good read..i have one question though ..would it be possible to encompass the graphic card as well ?
I'd like to get the Bigwater as i'm a big thermaltake fan and for the prices i've seen it for its a steal, but ideally i'd like to do the graphic card at the same time..and ideas ?

I can't see why you couldn't include a VPU cooler as long as the tubing connection sizes were the same.
Thernaltake does offer a VPU cooler for this system and the only other upgrade I would include would be an internal resevoir.
Thermaltake also has a resevoir with a heatsink for further cooling. _________________ Owner & Administrator

Thermaltake makes a GPU waterblock. They also have some nice accessories like a flow indicator, water temp monitor, coolant level device etc.
Check their website, and then use the shopping button at the top left of this page to find the best price. I'll look a little myself to see if I can help more.
A gpu or chipset waterblock from another company may work also, just make sure that it will connect to the 1/4" tubing.
It doesn't matter much, but you should probably route the fluid from the pump to the CPU block to the GPU to the radiator.
Good luck and let me know if I can help. |

Hi there,
Great review.
I have the Thermaltake Bigwater. I was wondering, I have mounted it inside at the rear of my Xaser III case, and wanted to know what the direction of airflow from the Bigwater should be?
Any advice would be great. |

| If I read you right, you should be exhausting air from the interior of the case, through the radiator and then to the outside of the case. |

Hey guys i just registered especially to share my story. I baught the big water liquid colling system around june. It worked very well and i could overclock and miraculously was stable when gaming. One day i turned the computer on, left the room for about an hour, came back and the screen was showing white lines flying acrossthe screen from left to right, (looked like the old Starfield screensaver). I had no idea what i was looking at so i shut he system down. I looked inside and i was a small puddle of green goo on my 256mb BFG 6800 GT OC. First words that came out of my mouth were "WHAT THE FU%#!!." Anyways, i took the waterblock out and noticed that on the acrylic "neck" part where the metal nut sits on was cracked. That meant that te liquid gradually slipped through the grooves of the scrylic, through the cracks, and onto the card. It has about 5 cracks all around the 1 cm acrylic neck, ON EACH NECK! I RMA the thing and was somehow shipped 2 waterblocks from thermaltake, so now i have 2, lol. And guess what, the second one has 1 little crack in the same area, not deep enough for the liquid to leak out from there. Now i have the 3rd waterblock installed and i am buying the Blue Orb II just in case i see a single crack, i'll tear it down the go back to air. Isn't life wonderful? |

Make sure thak you're not tightening the nuts down too tightly. With the nuts at proper tension, you should be able to just barely wiggle the block.
On the other hand, I've heard that blocks from other manufacturers with acrylic tops are prone to cracking as well. I've always thought that this was caused by inproper installation, but I have no direct knowledge of this.
Mine seems to be working fine, but I'll keep an eye on it.
Good luck, and welcome to TweakNews! |

^^^ that is one of the reasons I use the 6000 series of cpu blocks from swiftech. I know others have had that same problem and have switch to other types of blocks as well. _________________ I tweaked and it tweaked back! So I Tweaked some more!

Very quiet. _________________ Asus M2N32-SLI Deluxe, AM2 4600 x2, 150GB Raptor Exteme, 7900GTX in SLI Corsair XMS DDR2 CAS3, Custom DD Water Cooling |
