I have recently bought the Logitech Open Air Headset, I figured it would be a lot better than my old P.O.S. In which it is pretty good, BUT I have 1 major problem, I play Americas Army competitively and I use Teamspeak/Ventrilo so whenver I talk there is A LOT of background noises. I mean, a lot of people complain about this, so I need some tips/help for this!

Any response is appreciated!

Cool i play aao also. What i had to do is go to volume control and mute my mic . Sounds weird but thats what the problem was. And no it didn't actually mute my mic I also had to mute my cd audio because of the "hissing" sound comming from it.

I can't help with TeamSpeak, but in Ventrilo, you MUST make sure the input and output sound maps (on the global page) are set to your soundcard, and NOT DirectSound. If you leave them at "stock" settings, your teammates are hearing your game sounds as well as your voice.

For example, if you have a SB Audigy 2, that should be available as an option in the drop-down menus............select it for both input and output.

is it plugged into the mic input?

do you have +20db checked in the mic properties? that can cause hiss on a high impedance mic

I believe there's an "advanced" button under the mic level control........not all soundcards have that, though. It'll be under the Recording section, not the Playback. Click Options ---> Properties ----> Recording radio button.

you should have a little speaker icon in your taskbar.

If not, then you want to go to Start ----> Accessories ---> Entertainment, and look for Volume Control.

If you have a SoundBlaster card, you'll also have a Creative folder in your Start Menu somewhere. Look for the "mixer" control, I can't quite remember what it's called on newer cards

well i cant seem to get rid of the hissing noise, i'll just give up and i guess they'll have to live with it! Maybe its just my sound card, its like a Integrated one I think. It came with the comp, so i guess i'll need a new one. Oh and for really good sound, someone said that they had to tweak it alot. Anyone know where the Sound Card Equalizer is?

The guy said he just had to mess with the sound card equalizer and he got this headset sounding real good.

That depends on your soundcard.

Try finding out what you have.....onboard, PCI card, or whatever. Brand and model would be helpful, or just the name and model of your PC, if you don't know.

Some cards have equalizers, some don't. It all depends on the card.

Verify for me that you have the mic plugged into the mic jack, NOT the line-in jack. If that's fine, you could have a bad headset, so maybe exchange it, and try a new one.
