This will revolutionize audio as we know it, our computer will sound a heck of a lot better and will give us better FPS because the X-FI is like another processor but for sound only, the audigy2 series does help some in FPS but the X-FI will help a whole lot more, read this good article from Anandtech *drools* getting the X-FI Fatal1ty hopefully :)

Yes. Its a beauty!! I bought the el cheepo Sound Blaster Live! for $30.00 U.S. and it is a big sound change from the onboard sound. This is what it looks like..
It works great with GTA: San Andreas. But Battle Field 2 is just too much for it. The sound is very "choppy". Its a rappid cut-in cut-out effect in the surround sound settings. But in normal settings it loud and crisp. Im going to give it to my wife cuz she like the sound quality of the music. Besides, she doesnt game that much.
Ive been eye balling this baby since monday.
But then I seen this one and now I cant choose which one to go with.
I want to get the better one for gaming. Seems to me the Fatality is looking more like it. But I didnt want to spend $290.00 U.S. on a sound card.
But yes FTR, BOW DOWN TO THE AWE MIGHTY FATALITY SOUND BLASTER!!!! _________________ Asus M2N32-SLI Deluxe, AM2 4600 x2, 150GB Raptor Exteme, 7900GTX in SLI Corsair XMS DDR2 CAS3, Custom DD Water Cooling |

Great article, but typical for a computer-tweaking site, the "professional audio" card they're using in the comparison isn't exactly apples to apples........the Gina is a low-end card. That's sortof like tossing the ol' SB Live! into the mix.......of course, it's gonna be at the bottom of the barrel. Now, if they'd used an RME 9636, or a Hammerfall, instead..........the results would have been just a bit different.
Not saying the new Creative doesn't look good.........it looks to be an awesome end-user card, and the price isn't that far out of line. The Audigy 2 Platinum was around $250 when it first came out, higher in some stores. I just dislike reviews that use bottom-end pro hardware as an overall example.........makes it that much harder for me to explain why a $600 pro box is better than the Audigy............ "So-and-so's review said it was better than XXX Pro Audio card....so why do I need this?" _________________ Big enough to scare you |

Eh..........I haven't been exactly impressed with the Fatal1ty stuff. I mean, it's ok, but not what I would expect from the "world's top gamer". _________________ Big enough to scare you |

I am actually picking up the X-Fi XtremeMusic. I was originally going to go for the FATAL1TY but had trouble finding it around here. The X-Fi is getting slammin' reviews and I will pick up the card for about $135 CDN before taxes

From what I read, the Fatal1ty simply has some extra software that nobody really needs.........mostly geared for headphones. Otherwise, it's identical to the Platinum model, $80 less. Definitely a play on the name, since Creative used to include the headphone processing software for free. _________________ Big enough to scare you |

| the fatality model also has a remote and a 5.25" bay thing that the regular X-FI doesnt have, and guys trust me the X-FI is worth it, its like haveing a second CPU for sound only its so powerful it will raise your FPS a good amount depending on the game. |

Thanks Man! Yeah I just got rid of an old P4P800- d 2,8 gig. Got a l'il bonus at work and had sometime so figured I would do a "little" upgrade. Well you guys know how that goes
Started with moving up to 2 gigs of ram, then bought an AGP (old board did NOT support PCI-E) 6800 GT. Saw gains but nothing fabulous. So I go in and talk to my buddy who owns a local computer store (expensive friendship ) He got me into reading up on the A8N MOBO, and I liked the Idea of SLI, So bought the board, The fx-57, 1 7800 GTX and the PSU. Fortunately I just reused my 2 gigs of ram. Well what good is an SLI MOBO if it is sittin' there doin nothin??? So I popped for the second cars and while there picked up the Zalman CPU fan. At this point I got a great deal on the 24" syncmaster.
The onboard sound on the A8N is a serious upgrade from the old board, but it still didn't turn my crank So went back and picked up the Audigy2. My Wife had basically told me enough is enough after the 2nd Graphics card
What is funny is I swapped my old Logi Z-680s (70 Watts) for the 5500s (500 watts) and she cannot tell that there is any difference
I did not have enough room to mention the Maxtor 300gb 16mb HDD, or the 74gb RAPTOR 10,000 rpm HDD.
Anyway that is my sad story of addiction .....now I plan to get the X-Fi card (my buddy will give me full pop trade in on the Audigy and a real decent HEADSET. What are your favorite choices? I like the Senheisser (sp?) set but cannot find a place round here that sells them. _________________ AMD Athlon™ 64 FX-57 - A8N-SLI Premium - MSI Geforce 7800GTX ULTRA PCI-E x 2 - ANTEC TRUE POWER 550W - Sound Blaster® Audigy® 2 ZS - LOGITECH Z-5500 5.1 DIGITAL (500 WATTS) - Zalman CNPS7700-Cu CPU COOLER - SyncMasterTM 24 inch LCD TV monitor |
