Well since my rig is getting older and older and I dont have the money to really upgrade to a new mobo/cpu i figured id try to push my baby a little bit more.

I have never "really" overclocked my rig, just a bit to get the feel of it
its 2800XP and i usually had it running at 11x200 to get 2.2ghz, and tonight i set her at 11x220mhz with volts of 1.725 im going to run memtest and i was wondering if you think i could push it to 2.5ghz? im only 90mhz away but i was wondering what would be the best combination of multiplier/fsb/vcore volts? thanks

sorry to triple post,

well after memtest gave me some bad feedback my compy restarted so i decided to change a few things im now running 11x218mhz, vcore is: 1.8v, cpu freq: 2401mhz and bus speed is 436mhz, are these pretty good speeds? considering its a 2.18ghz stock cpu? right now im idling at 44/45/46C ish range, hopefully when i clean/lap my hsf and reapply some as5 that will bring the temperature down? so far shes running stable for just over 3 hours, and im about to run memtest, Also i just bought a x800 pro 256mb on ebay for 150 bucks, gg ebay. so now my pc wont suck so much Very Happy Very Happy

okay well now ive got a tiny bit of a problem.

when before when i was 2.4ghz i was running my ram in single channel ( just to be on the safe side i've had problems in dual)

but this morning i got curious and went for dual channel. now, I cannot boot to windows running 2.4GHz (vcore:1.8v) and ram at (2.8v) but i can run at 2.2ghz with vcore: 1.8v and ram at 2.7ghz, any idea why? you guys are much more knowledgable about this then me :)
