whats up guys....about 1 month ago I sold my computer because I decided I really liked building them.I will be getting another one pretty soon, and I was just wondering about a few things. I decided to go for canterwood or springdale, and an 800FSB proccessor. I was just looking around at the motherboards and reading some reviews on them. I really cant decide which one to get though. But I have kind of norrowed it down to a gew suspects: The ABIT IC-7, the Asus P4C800-E DLX, and just the ABIT IC7. Although there are a few more pretty good ones, I believe these are the tops. What do you guys suggest I go with? Something else perhaps?

i, personally, tend to stay away from Abit ever since i got burned by their BE6. their level of service was crap and their website constantly down (or useless).
that's just my opinion though. they may have changed significantly in the last 3-4 years.

i went with the canterwood this time around. just picked up the dragon 2 platinum from soyo (SY-P4I875P). very nice board.

sounds good roger. Yes, I hear the 2.4C overclocks the best, but then the 2.6C overclocks almost as good. Basically if you want to overclock and save some money, theres not better deal the the 2.4C, it can go further then the 3.0C in most cases!

the 2.4C is an amazing chip... great overclocking architechture.
you can enable the HT on it, and with a good board, you can have a lot of fun.

Springdales are failed Canterwood chips so dont expect them to overclock well. Personally, Abit are my favourite make although the fastest Canterwood board atm is the Asus P4C800.
