SM....you need to chill....
Moderators....this belongs in the other thread.
Did you ever get your memory checked out?
Did you ever get your BIOS reset?
Why, if not, would you start just overclocking a compy that isn't working?
IF, there hasn't been any damage...the first thing is to get you BIOS reset, so the thing will boot. Then we will work on getting it stable.
download and read this....it tells you things about your motherboard...
http://www.gigabyte-usa.com/Motherboard/Support/Manual/Manual_GA-K8NS%20Pro.htm
We need to know exactly what cpu you have, to tell you the correct voltage either 1.4 or 1.5 volts. (vcore) The memory voltage we can start at 2.7volts. (Vdimm) we may raise or lower these (by no more than .1) later. _________________ .

reset CMOS....consult manual on this......then load bios defaults.
hopefully no chip damage was done...what did you raise the voltage to? _________________

Resetting CMOS is the same as resetting the BIOS.
Did you read the manual on how to do it...I'm sure it said to unplug the compy while resetting.
The next question is....what does come on? Do fans work? Is the little LED on the motherboard lit? Are you getting any beeps? IF the video board is toasted, and were removed from the system, when the computer is powered on it would beep 3 times. The HDD is moot at this point and can be disconnected from power until you can recover your ability to boot.
Like ToggleHead asked...how high, and which voltage did you raise? _________________ .

You upped your CPU voltage (Vcore) to 2.25 volts I didn't realize the BIOS would let you go that high. Do you get any beeps? _________________ .

Yowtch. That's WAY too high for the VCore.
If you're getting no beeps at all, no video, and cannot enter the BIOS, it's likely you fried your processor cranking it that high. It only takes a split second to do that. _________________ Big enough to scare you |

| i've had the same issues with my motherboard, same brand as yours. its a 8knxp. It stoppod working after i overclocked my cpu. tested all the parts in another computer(recommend you should too). Found the problem was my mobo. sent in for rma, got it back, oc'd it up again, no problems. I asked them what was the problem, they said it was the southbridge chip. But your situation could be different so i suggest testing the parts out, since you already resested the bios and it still doesnt work. But as fnf said most likely the cpu w/ voltage that high. |

hey its all good, problems happen, lol life is full of it. The power supply probably doesnt involve in any issue your having. its all abou tthe the internal mobo. config(bios). youve just raised the voltage to the cpu to high. if you still have warranty they should do it for free. If not still call and they'll as for 50 bucks or so for replacement/repair. As i said still check if any other parts could've been affected from the high voltage. heck the cpu could still be fine, its could just be the sudden change in v. that damaged another part. |

no if you just upped the VCORE, your other hardware should be fine.
Let this bea lesson in things though: "If you dont know what it is/does, DONT play with it" _________________

yea i agree with you th, but just like when you up tthe v. on anything you know how it can have side affects. like sata not working you know that kinda stuff or the circuitry causes something to burn other than the cpu.
Yea becareful SM, even if you know what your doing, every system have different expectations. not all are alike. |

Wow, I go to lunch...and everybody posts.
That sounds like the plan...
Put it all back together and ask for warranty repair. _________________ .

i agree that upping the vcore can sometimes have effects on some things not functioning....and stranger HAS happened.....just its rare to see a boosted vcore permanently damage anything but the cpu.....next in line would be socket damage i guess....=P
Good luck with the warrenty , what country are you from, how are the rules out there? _________________

| If it is any major branded computer your warranty is probaby going to be void. Most compaines state (in fine print) that damage to the cpu is not covered. Unless they've been having problems with cpu's burning up lately... |
