|
I am here to start a little friendly competition here on TweakNews.
First up we have Super Pi v1.4. As of right now we will be using 1m, 4m, 16m and 32m. If you want to add others we can do that just let me know. I will update this as time goes along so that way its easy to see where you stand. We will have Intel and AMD records kept. When posting results please include CPU-Z along with the Super Pi in the screen shots. I know there will be large, but that is what thumb nails are for. We will also be using the CPU-Z validation links too.
Please use the latest version of Super Pi. It reports the time down to a thousandth of a second. And also use the thumbnail feature on imageshack (or equivalent) If we post the full size on here the thread would take forever to load for those on dial-up.
AMD records:

ok I will start this off with a quick and dirty run on my laptop.
http://valid.x86-secret.com/show_oc?id=29328
As you can see the images are going to be large so please use the thumbnail feature of Imageshack.
You can get Super Pi v 1.4 here, and you can use that same link to verify the time using the checksum code and time using the same link.
You will also need th current version of CPU-Z to be able to validate. I had 1.28 in the SS so I updated it to get the validation. _________________ I tweaked and it tweaked back! So I Tweaked some more!

2Old you were right.
I ran the dually at stock and got a time of 40 secs. Then I upped the multi and got this:
http://valid.x86-secret.com/show_oc?id=29369
I should be able to get higher once I switch to the new P5WD2 Premium motherboard and actually be able to run good memory speeds. _________________ I tweaked and it tweaked back! So I Tweaked some more!

This might get a bit confusing! But I went upstairs to the computer that is still on my desk and did a bit of tweaking and this is what I came up with.

So what's confusing? Besides the fact that you gave two CPU-Z screens of the same thing.
Makes sense to me....the ol' EE is at what... 3.9G...I think this is just as simple as flops/sec. Dual processing isn't being utilized...just like the HT. So, it's still another test in our arsonal. Interesting to me though, will be some good athlon XP's, and a 570 or 670 with a sweet OC. _________________ .

no not the same thing.
The first one is on the Smithfield (dualcore) and the second is on my "old" Gallatin core. And on the first I was running in single channel mode with loose timings. The OC on the smithfield was by playing with the multiplier and on the gallie I pumped the FSB.
I also have another screenie of the smithfield at 4.0 ghz (16x250). But the motherboard is being a problem. The new motherboard is in the house but I am waiting for a day off to be able to install it. Then I should be able to run the memory at whats its rated to run and also have a nice OC on the cpu(s). From what I have seen so far the smithfield seems to like to OC rather well. But it needs to be on a good motherboard to bring the most out of it.
Just in case anyone was wondering, yes the smithfield system is running dual monitors. Hey if it's got dual core cpu and dual video cards, why shouldnt it have dual monitors too? _________________ I tweaked and it tweaked back! So I Tweaked some more!

What I meant was the two on this screenshottie. unless you got them dual monitors on top of each other
Yep..it'll be interesting to see that smithie @4G running stable.
I'm gonna try a couple of other machines I have here, currently crunching, just for shiz and grins. _________________ .

OK I see what you mean now. I meant one to be showing the memory timings. See what happens when you tweak and sleep at the same time.
WOW that is just a few seconds differences
Now we just need to get some AMD guys in here and see what they got!

dont be ashamed at all we want everyone to post and play with this. No one needs to feel left out.
I ask again that everyone that does post results, please use the thumbnails. Because if everyone posted the full size pics the thread would be very slow to load as it grows larger. _________________ I tweaked and it tweaked back! So I Tweaked some more!

nice OC there 2O. Now lets get some of these AMD guys tweakin' their rigs and posting some numbers. And lets see some of the larger tests run. I have some screenies of the 4m to the 16m test. I just need to upload and post them. _________________ I tweaked and it tweaked back! So I Tweaked some more!

PhRoZeN_X_,
I think that you might be able to get that 1m time down a little bit more with some tweaking. OC it to the max that it will boot at and run the test and see what you get. _________________ I tweaked and it tweaked back! So I Tweaked some more!

that is a very nice bump! Maybe with a little extreme aircooling you might be able to get a little bit more. And what I mean by extreme aircooling is taking the side off of your case and using a house fan to blow a large volume of air into the case. And if you can get away with it drop the temp on the house AC for a little while as well. _________________ I tweaked and it tweaked back! So I Tweaked some more!

| Yea i was amazed that my 3500 could get that good. My only concern was that i had to up voltage from 1.5 to 1.65 . The temps went to 69 C which is too high for me. I have been working a lot of overtime lately so maybe my next purchase will be a water cooling kit. My ram should be here tomorrow or thursday and then i can Oc without a memory devider. I'll do another 1M when that arrives. |

I should have some updated numbers here soon. I got the watercooling circuit done on the dualcore system with the new motherboard. Now to just install the PSU and other hardware. _________________ I tweaked and it tweaked back! So I Tweaked some more!
