Q: when is it too hot?
A: when the cpu starts to throttle, if I am correct that would occur at 70C.

To avoid this you need a GOOD quality heatsink and good case ventilation.

If you list some of your parts we can help you get this sorted if you are having troubles.

that doesnt look that bad at all. But you may be able to get the temps a little lower with some added airflow to the case and supplying fresh air direct to the cpu heatsink. But over all that looks alright. Oh and by the way what is your ambient room temp?

FTR do you know what is normal on the P4 6 series CPU's?
You arent running one nor are you using the same motherboard he is. So unless you are trying to help Bono, then please keep your comments to yourself.

Bono the temps that you are reporting are normal for a 6 series cpu. They do run hot, and that is the nature of the beast. The best advice I can give you is to use a HIGH quality heatsink, fan and have good airflow through the case.
