Great review, really appreciate it.

I was wondering exactly how you moved the rear fan to the front of the case. Where/how did you mount it? Also, how'd the 120mm fan you replaced it with mount on?

Thanks! Welcome to TweakNews!

If you'll look at the last pic on page 4 of the review, you'll see that there are two places to mount 80mm fans to the front of the case. I simply removed the four screws that attach the rear fan and moved it to one of the front placements, using the same screws. Make sure the fan is blowing air into the case. In place of the rear 80mm fan that I removed, I installed a 120mm fan with the screws that normally come with retail fans when you buy them. The rear placement will accept 80, 92 or 120mm fans. The fan should be blowing air out of the case in this instance. You can also replace/incorporaate an 80mm fan where the "snorkel" attaches to the side window (blowing in). With these minor mods, this case cools very well.

Let me know if you have any further questions.

Thanks for the speedy reply.

Could you really get the front panel back on with the 80mm fan in between it and the actual case?! Also, would you reccomend drilling out some of the perforated areas (and which ones?)?

Also, I didn't quite understand from the review: The two wheel controllers on the side - one controls the sensitivity of the VU gauge, while the other actually controlls how fast the fans are spinning? And did you only connect the rear 120mm fan to it or did you try attaching more?

No, the front fans go inside the case, not between the front panel and case.

If I were you, I'd remove perforations in the areas I was going to install fans. A nibbler and drill works well for this. Removing the material will increase airflow and reduce noise.

Yes, the controller allows you to adjust fan speed. You should be able to "daisy-chain" three fans or so into the controller safely.
I would be hesitant to attach any more than that.

After a great deal of procrastination I'm finally ready to start ordering the parts for my new rig. However, I've read in some places that the chimney fan gets in the way of a lot of power supplies. What were the dimensions of the PSU you used?

Now I promise I'll stop bothering you with this one.

The power supply I used was an Antec and measured in at 6", front to back.
There are several good-quality power supplies with this dimension, or you could move the fan to the outside of the case.
