This might sound a bit silly, but stay with me here. If i install 2 sound cards in my computer, say 2 Audigy 2zs's, is there any way i could assign each one a different thing to play? like say i'm using Itunes, could i have that playing on one card and windows meadi player playing on the other without the same thing coming out of both of them?

No, there's no way to do that. All consumer cards (like the Audigy 2) use WDM drivers, and only one set can exists on a machine. Even if you were able to install both cards, and have them recognized in System Properties as seperate cards, Windows is only able to pipe sound to one at a time, not both.

Even if you have a pro sound card or unit that uses ASIO, they still typically use WDM drivers for playing MP3's, and in some cases, playing back recorded WAV files. And, in most cases, you have to disable your onboard or PCI based sound to use the pro unit.

That's a definite no-go, bro.
