Please Help

Hi i have some question.
1)I have a outdate Motherboard now and i already updated the bios and stills okay but i limited to a 2400XP athon chip because it only supports 266fbs and it also only have a 4x agp slot on it. right now i have a athon 1800xp and a g-force 4 ti 4600 128 ddr on it with 512 pc 2700 ddr ram. Now i want to upgrade my machine but i dont know if i should, the max i could do with it is put another 512 pc 2700 ddr ram so i have 1 gig and put a amd 2400xp on it, also i thinking of putting either a AIW 9700 pro or a ati 9800pro either the 128 or 256. if i do all that do you think it will help my gamimg more or i wont see much different on it.

or should i buy a bramd new motherboard like

Bruno, wat do you use your computer for mostly? if it's for word processing, then it should be fine, and if it's for games, it is fine also. At this time of the year, ur system is powerful enough to handle recent games and things liek that...but on the other hand, if you are a graphics designer or a programmer, i suggest something a bit higher, not that wat you have already isn't high enough. Let's face it..how often will you see people sqeeze the real juice outta mobos and cpus? not that many..and practically none...but it's your call...i suggest u keep using ur system till the mobos and cpus price drop some more after the summer and near the new year..if you can wait that long

well, since you mentioned the gaming, bruno, i'd suggest a new mobo that you can overclock. more memory also helps. as for the vid card, yours is fine. i wouldn't get the 256 mb version of the 9800 as there isn't support for that much ram now, and won't be until doom III. what you've got will do fine until then. as for you xp2400, that's not a bad chip. you could always get a p4 2.4c and overclock it... but you'd definitively have to change mobo then.
